In Grand Rapids (a city close to Holland where my parents live) they have something called Art Prize. It is a HUGE art competition where the entire city is filled with art. There are big sculptures outside around town as well as art in restaurants, churches, and numerous other venues. We went there one afternoon to look at some of the amazing art. Here are some pictures of some of the art we saw.
What do you think that this is made of????
The entire thing was made with over a thousand rubiks cubes.
This was one of the finalists, it was made entirely out of pennies.
And what do you think this one is made of???
Crayons!! The artist is actually an elementary school principal and she had her students help her make it.
The competition is actually voted on by the people in the community, and it ended just a few days ago. The winner we unfortunately didn't get to see, but here it is.

It is a 6 feet by 4 feet pencil drawing of a photograph that the artist had of American officers in 1921.

Here the artist is working on it. Isn't this AMAZING?!
Last beach day...
Lots of birds...
and sailboats!
