Chicago Trip

Ever since I moved to Atlanta, my mom, sisters and I have had a girls weekend in Chicago every fall. This year we went a little earlier than normal, because Ella's fall break for school was in September. We also had Tim crash our little weekend because we had his cousin Christine, who lives in Chicago, do some family pictures of us. She is an amazing photographer, and I can't wait to show you the pictures when we get them back.

We had a great weekend of shopping and going to the Lincoln Park Zoo! Ella actually had a really bad croupe-y kind of cough, but she was a real trooper throughout the weekend. By Sunday she could barely speak, but she still had a great time seeing all of the animals at the zoo.

Out to lunch....

On Sunday we went to the Lincoln Park Zoo. It was a gorgeous fall day and we had fun walking around and enjoying the wonderful weather.

Ella loved talking to daddy in these little talker things (anyone know what these are called?)

Cavner and Auntie Heather

Ella had a great time riding the train all by herself.

Watching a clown.

Saying goodbye to daddy...he was going back to Atlanta and we were going to Holland for a week.

We didn't all fit in the car to go back to Michigan, so Grandma, Ella, Cavner and I took the train from Chicago to Holland. Ella and Cavner were exhausted after such a long, fun filled weekend that they slept a lot on the train. It was nice being able to travel with them where they were able to move around and not have to be stuck in a car seat. They both really enjoyed their first train ride!
