We decided a few years ago that it is much nicer going to the pumpkin patch in September. There are not big crowds, the kids can run around, and I can get some pictures without a bunch of people in the background! We went to Burt’s Farm, which is about an hour north of us. The day was perfect and being up in the mountains where the leaves were starting to change made it really feel like fall.
We packed a picnic lunch, and the kids had fun playing with the sticks, and throwing rocks in the creek by the picnic tables.
Daddy even went exploring with Cavner in the creek.
Ella wanted a baby pumpkin, so I let her and Cavner pick one out.
Then we loaded our pumpkins in the wheelbarrow….
and Daddy took Ella and Cavner on rides through the pumpkins.
